Job Responsibilities
As an IT Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and managing the IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations, and supporting the organization’s technological needs. Your primary responsibilities include:
- System Maintenance and Management
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of servers, networks, and other IT systems.
- Monitor and maintain hardware and software infrastructure, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Perform routine system updates, backups, and recovery processes.
- Network Administration
- Manage and monitor LAN, WAN, and wireless networks to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity, firewall configurations, and VPN setup.
- Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
- Technical Support
- Provide first and second-line IT support to staff, addressing issues related to hardware, software, and systems.
- Respond promptly to technical queries and troubleshoot problems to minimize downtime.
- Maintain an IT support ticketing system to ensure efficient issue resolution.
- User Account Management
- Create, manage, and deactivate user accounts and permissions in Active Directory, Office 365, or other platforms.
- Monitor access to ensure compliance with company policies and security guidelines.
- IT Policies and Compliance
- Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.
- Conduct IT security audits and assessments to mitigate risks.
- Hardware and Software Management
- Procure, install, and configure new IT equipment and software as required.
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets.
- Ensure the timely renewal of licenses and subscriptions.
- IT Project Management
- Assist in planning and implementing IT projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers for timely delivery and support of IT solutions.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend enhancements to existing infrastructure.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure minimal disruption during emergencies.
- Conduct regular tests and drills to ensure the readiness of recovery procedures.
- Training and Development
- Provide IT training sessions to staff to improve technical literacy and effective system use.
- Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and recommend upgrades as necessary.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or macOS.
- Experience with network tools and protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
